Reading your analytics
What each number means, where it comes from, and when it updates.
Where do I find my analytics?
Your analytics live on the Analytics page: open Analytics from the sidebar. The Dashboard also has a smaller view of the last 30 days in its Channels Performance card, and the Published count there has an Open Analytics link.
Three controls at the top narrow every number on the page. The publication filter starts on All publications and only appears when you have more than one publication. The channel filter starts on All channels, or you can pick X, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook, or Reddit. The period control switches between 7d, 30d, and 90d, and 30d is the default.
The period you pick stays in the page address, so refreshing the page or coming back to it keeps the same view.
What the Channels table shows
The Channels table has one row for each connected account, with its handle and the publication it belongs to. Accounts that posted in the period come first, then the quiet ones.
Followers is the account’s current follower count. Posts is how many posts went out through Karrow on that account in the period. Impressions and Clicks add up those posts’ numbers. Eng. rate combines those posts’ engagement rates into one figure for the channel.
A dash (—) means the platform didn’t report that number. Karrow never fills a gap with a 0, so a dash is “not reported,” not “nobody saw it.” A Syncing badge next to the handle means at least one of the period’s posts is still waiting for its first numbers.
What do the arrows next to my numbers mean?
The arrows compare this period with the one just before it, as a percentage change. With 30d selected, posts published in the last 30 days are compared with posts published in the 30 days before that.
A hypothetical example: if a channel’s posts had 4,000 impressions in the previous 30 days and 5,000 in the last 30, the Impressions arrow points up and reads +25.0%. If the earlier period had no posts or no numbers, there is nothing to compare, so no arrow appears.
The Followers arrow works differently. It shows the account’s recent follower growth as the platform reports it, so it doesn’t change when you switch between 7d, 30d, and 90d.
The charts below the table
Channel mix is a ring chart of how your posts, impressions, or followers split across platforms. Switch between Posts, Impressions, and Followers in the card’s header. Each share is rounded to a whole percent, so the shares can add up to 99% or 101%, and a channel with nothing to count is left out rather than shown as 0%.
Top performers is a bar chart of impressions, grouped by Posts, Channels, or Publications. It shows up to six bars.
Engagement rate over time draws one dot per post, at that post’s own rate on the day it went out. It appears once the period has at least two posts with a rate.
Top posts lists up to eight of your best posts for the period, ranked by saves, shares, and comments. Click one to see its full stats.
One post’s stats
Click a post to open its drawer. It shows impressions, engagement rate, likes, comments, shares, saves, and clicks, plus when they were last updated. Each number appears only if the platform reported it.
If nothing has arrived yet, the drawer says “Metrics are syncing.” or “No metrics yet for this post.” The View on X link (View on LinkedIn, and so on) opens the live post on the platform.
Which channels report analytics in Karrow?
X, Facebook, and Threads report full post stats, LinkedIn reports most of them, and Reddit reports none.
LinkedIn doesn’t report saves or clicks to Karrow, so those show as dashes. For personal LinkedIn profiles, analytics only cover posts published through Karrow; hover the info icon next to the handle to see that note.
Reddit doesn’t offer analytics to apps like Karrow. A Reddit row reads “Reddit has no analytics API.” instead of numbers, and Reddit posts never appear in Top posts, Top performers, or the engagement rate chart; they only count in the Posts view of Channel mix.
Posts, impressions, clicks, and engagement rate only count posts that went out through Karrow. Anything you post directly on the platform isn’t included, though the follower count covers the whole account.
How often do the numbers update?
Numbers update when you open Analytics, if they are more than 12 hours old, and once a day in the background, so they aren’t real-time. The top of the page shows how long ago they last updated.
The Refresh analytics button on the Dashboard follows the same rule: pressing it within 12 hours of the last update won’t fetch anything new.
Karrow stops refreshing a post about 45 days after it goes out, when its numbers have mostly settled. In the 90d view, older posts show the last numbers Karrow collected. A brand-new post can take a little while before its first numbers arrive.
Why is my Analytics page empty?
Analytics stays empty until a channel is connected and at least one post has gone out on it through Karrow. The page names whichever step is missing and offers the button to fix it.
- 1“Connect a channel to see analytics”: nothing is measured until a channel is connected. Click Connect a channel.
- 2“No channels match this scope”: you have channels, just not in the publication and channel you filtered to. Click Clear filters.
- 3“Schedule a draft to start measuring”: you have drafts, but none has been scheduled. Click Open your drafts.
- 4“Your first post hasn’t gone out yet”: something is scheduled, and numbers arrive shortly after it publishes. Click View the calendar to check when.
- 5“Publish a post to see analytics”: your channels are ready but there is nothing to measure yet. Click New post.
If posts have gone out but the page says “Your numbers are still syncing,” the first update hasn’t landed yet. Come back after a while rather than reconnecting anything.
