Plans and billing, explained
What’s free, what Pro adds, and how a publication is counted.
Is Karrow free to use?
Yes, everything up to publishing is free, with no card and no trial clock. You can connect your beehiiv or Ghost newsletter, bring in your issues, let Karrow learn your voice from your back catalogue, draft posts with AI, and edit and review them as much as you like.
Scheduling and publishing to your channels are what Karrow Pro unlocks. The first time you pick a time to schedule a post or press Post now, Karrow shows a Publish with Karrow Pro prompt with the price for your workspace. Choose Maybe later and nothing changes: your drafts stay where they are.
Playbooks are free to browse. Bookmarking a format and steering drafts toward your saved formats are Pro features. On the free plan, Save playbook opens an upgrade window.
How publications are counted
A publication is one connected newsletter. Running four newsletters is four publications, each with its own voice and its own channels.
Some examples: one publication is $59 a month or $590 a year. Two are $118 a month or $1,180 a year. Four are $236 a month or $2,360 a year, which is $472 less than four monthly plans over twelve months.
One beehiiv API key can give access to several publications. When you connect it, Karrow asks which publications you want to connect and ticks every new one for you. Untick any you don’t want in Karrow; only the ones you connect are billed.
Billing belongs to the workspace. If you keep two workspaces, each one has its own subscription and its own publication count. If you subscribe before connecting any publication, you’re billed for one.
What do the daily AI limits mean?
They are daily caps that stop runaway use, not something you pay for. On the free plan you can generate 20 drafts a day; on Pro it’s 200. Every draft counts, so asking for 3 drafts for X and 3 for LinkedIn uses 6.
Edits made with AI on selected text have their own allowance: 60 a day on the free plan and 600 on Pro. Fixing grammar never uses up a draft.
Both reset at midnight UTC. If a request would take you over the limit, Karrow turns it down whole rather than giving you part of it, and tells you how many you’ve used, for example “You’ve used today’s 20 free drafts.”
Upgrade
- 1Open Settings → Billing. You can also choose Billing & Subscription from your avatar menu, or click the Free badge under your name in that menu.
- 2Pick Annual or Monthly. Annual is selected to start with and shows how much you save.
- 3Click Subscribe annually or Subscribe monthly and finish checkout. Checkout is handled securely by Stripe.
- 4You come back to Settings → Billing, where your plan now shows as Karrow Pro.
Upgrading from the prompt you see when you try to publish? After checkout you land back on the post you were publishing, so you can carry on where you stopped.
Where do I find my invoices?
Your invoices are in Settings → Billing, under Invoices. The latest four are listed with their date, amount, status (Paid, Open, Unpaid, Void, or Draft), and a PDF link. If you have more, click View all invoices in the billing portal →.
The same page shows your plan, the date it renews, the card on file under Payment method, and your Next charge. Any member of the workspace can open it.
Click Manage billing to update your card or billing details, or to cancel.
How do I cancel Karrow?
Open Settings → Billing, click Manage billing, and cancel your plan in the billing portal. Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
Until then, your plan shows Cancelling with the date it ends. After that date, your issues, drafts, and posts stay in the workspace. Scheduling and Post now ask for Pro again, but you can still cancel a post that’s already scheduled.
You can subscribe again at any time from Settings → Billing, and your publications and channels are still there.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 7 days of your first payment. Email hello@getkarrow.com from your account email, or include it, and tell us the date you paid. No reasons needed.
Refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 7 business days depending on your bank. The guarantee covers your first payment only. Later renewals aren’t refunded, but if you cancel you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends.
If a payment fails
We’ll email you that your payment didn’t go through and retry the charge automatically. The email goes to the workspace’s longest-standing member.
Nothing is cancelled and posts you’ve already scheduled stay queued. Until the charge goes through, though, the workspace is treated as free, so scheduling new posts and Post now ask you to upgrade.
Don’t subscribe again from the Billing page to fix it. Email hello@getkarrow.com from your account email and we’ll help you update your card.
